It’s around the mid-’90s, I am close to 10 years old, and we go on a family trip down to the coast. I didn’t grow up close to the ocean, but it always drew some magic in me, as I found fascinating the mysteries of its depths, the weird animals, the freedom of swimming, and the respect I gave it from that first time I almost drown under my bodyboard.

Last week, one of our Co-founders (Karin) made it to the cover of nothing less but than “The Age” newspaper! Becoming national news through all the Australian territory! Yay!

This year, Chris Ord and the teams from Tour de Trails and Salomon put an excellent adventure packed weekend for all to enjoy! With events coming from ultra distances, such as the 50km Lumberjack Ultra, to more beginners’ friendly formats as the Body Positive Stomp and different shorter trail distances, Warby Trail Fest is clearly for everyone!

Earlier this year the plastic runner was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to collaborate with the City of Melbourne (CoM), as part of the National Sustainability Festival. This involved our group leading four plog events within Melbourne during February to assist CoM increase awareness about excess waste and littering in our beautiful city. We also wanted to bring more awareness about the plogging movement in general and gain more Melburnian plog recruits!

What do you think when we say Miami? Clean pristine beaches, bikinis, piña coladas….right? Well, Miami is not free of plastic pollution. Being a busy touristic destination, Miami could give the false feeling of cleanliness and perfection, but Kaiti got realised of how much help her beloved places needed, and decided to take action to make Miami, and the planet, a cleaner place!

During my travels, I have been lucky enough to be in some amazing countries, where culture, people, and landscapes will remain in my memory forever. One of those countries is Mexico. Mexican people have this spark and passion for their culture that has always called my attention. From their spicy food, the chile con carne (vegan-option for me now haha), the friends I have made, the Aztecan ruins, the postcard beaches….Mexico should be in everyone’s list. And I couldn’t stop feeling happiness when I found a plogging group there!

It’s been a while since we have heard about the successful running career of Simone “Flying Brick” around our local trails and tracks in Melbourne. No wonder this super chic has been practicing plogging for a while to help her local trails and create a good example, while smashing records and inspiring many. We asked her about her journey and how she got into this trend.
