Our house is on fire, and we cannot stand still!
With the current bushfire crisis in several places around Australia, we needed to find a way to help. And why not join the legend Samantha Gash and her call for action: Relief Run. 100% of the registration fees will be donated to the Australian Red Cross.
The Australian Red Cross is helping support those affected by bushfire, including by providing psychosocial support to people, supporting 21 relief centres across NSW, Victoria and South Australia, distributing food and water in Victoria, and greeting people evacuated by air and sea.
It is also registering nearly 15,000 people to be re-connected with families, through its Register. Find. Reunite service.
So, this month’s plogging event will be replaced by a Community Run part of Relief Run.
We will meet at the Pillars of Wisdom at the Tan Track at 7:40 am hoping to start our run at 8 am.
You must register for this event. This will allow you to donate as part of this initiative.

What is a virtual race?
Is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog or walk on the road, on the trail, or the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. This race is all up to you, which means you go at your own pace and time yourself.

Options: (1) A GPS watch; (2) a treadmill that records your distance; (3) using a free phone app such as Strava.
How do I submit my results?
This is completely optional. If you want to be seen on the website leaderboard you will have two options. (1) through STRAVA – which we are currently working to create the capabilities for. (2) You can manually submit your time via emailing gashsamantha@gmail.com
