City of Yarra & The Plastic Runner Plogging for a Plastic Free Planet

  • St Kevin's College Boatshed 500 Yarra Boulevard Burnley, VIC, 3121 Australia (map)

So, you like running, and you like helping nature.

That’s why we decided to put those two things together and take some action/fun!

Let’s go plogging!

What is “plogging”? Born in Scandinavia, plogging is the combination of jogging and picking up rubbish, helping the environment while keeping yourself active. How good is that?!

Now is up to you! Come and join us for a fun run of 45min to 1hr where we will help as a community while learning how to be an environmentally responsible runner 💚🌎

This August edition will be run in collaboration with: CITY OF YARRA COUNCIL!

Yes! We will be teaming up with the awesome City of Yarra Council for future events within the local community! With the new Waste Revolution Trial, our friends from CoY are giving a good fight in the war on waste, reinventing the way how Council and Community recycle together.

Not a runner? Don't worry! We will have a walking group for you! Everyone is welcome. Children and pups too!

Coffee, chats, and treats after we finish our fun run thanks to our mates from Barrel of Beans.

What should I bring:

Active clothes according to weather conditions 🧢

Running shoes 👟

Water 🍼

Smiles 😊

Keepcup or reusable cup for coffee

Meeting point at the famous water tap next to St. Kevin’s Boatshed (please see map for reference)

There are few parking spots along the Capital City Trail, but we encourage you to cycle or use public transport. The best way to get to the Meeting Point is to hop off at Heyington or South Yarra train station. We recommend you to plan your commute, as you will have to walk/warm up to the starting point (like 10-15 min max).

Look for our friendly crew and our flag!

If you can't make it, please SHARE

Let's spread the love for our trails!

Need more reasons to come?

Karin will give a hug to every volunteer and we will have some good prizes for the weird finds thanks to our friends from Paddy Pallin.

*Bags and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring yours!
